The Lewin Fund to Fight Women’s Cancers Teams Up with Holy Name to Host Health and Wellness Event

from Lauren Stiffelman

The Lewin Fund to Fight Women’s Cancers will host the Own Your Health Power Panel on April 19th, 2020 from 10:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. at Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley in Woodcliff Lake.
The panel features top health and wellness cancer experts led by Dr. Sharyn Lewin, executive director of The Lewin Fund and medical director of the division of gynecologic oncology at the Patricia Lynch Cancer Center at Holy Name. Topics include gynecologic cancer, genetics, nutritional health and wellness tips, the benefits of acupuncture, mind-body stress reduction techniques, skin cancer prevention, and anti-aging strategies.
“We are thrilled to host this event once again as a way to educate and empower the communities we serve,” said Dr. Lewin. “In years past, the event specifically targeted women, but this year we opened the event to men as well. We could not ignore these startling statistics: one in three women and one in two men will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime. The data shows that half of all those cancers — which is a huge number — could be prevented with lifestyle modifications. Our goal is to have attendees leave with a better sense of how to proactively reduce their risk of cancer.”
Onsite genetic testing and free childcare will be available. Brunch will be served. There is no cost to attend the event.
