Talent and Variety Reign at Agora Gallery

from Agora Gallery

The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition is always an event worth bookmarking in your calendar. Full of interest, variety and energy, the show presents the work of the artists who have been selected by the independent juror, Mr. Carlo McCormick, one of New York’s noted culture critics and curators. The works offer a wide range of media, styles and subjects, yet are united with their inspirational vivacity and creativity. Selected among thousands of entrants from across the globe, these artists represent the fresh new wave of talent coming the New York art scene.

In Lest We Forget: Pierre Leclerc / a Solo Exhibition, the audience is introduced to the work of an artist who paints with great emotional investment, pouring everything that he feels at the time of creation into his art. Leclerc believes that sadness has a more profound effect on our minds and development than happiness, and he prefers to focus his work on this theme. The result is enormously powerful, but not depressing. Rather, as the artist intends, the work encourages us to reflect on the nature of our lives and inner selves.

The exhibitions open on August 22, 2014 and will remain on view until September 11, 2014. The opening reception will take place on the evening of Thursday, August 28, at 6-8pm, and it is an event not to be missed.
