Portland Navy Week

To help Americans stay connected to their Navy while staying safe at home, the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO) is bringing a Virtual Navy Week to Portland, Maine from Aug. 10-14. By going virtual, the Navy is able to work with its great network of Navy partners to provide opportunities to interact with the Navy in live-streamed events, videos and downloadable activities. Engagements will include Facebook Live events, interviews, webinars, and local and social media coverage of:

Senior Navy Leadership - Interviews from leaders with ties to Maine and the Portland area
USS Maine (SSBN 741) - Tour of the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine
“Day-in-the-Life” segments with Sailors from Maine
Navy Band Northeast - Virtual concerts, tours and masterclasses
Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group 2 - Interview with Master Diver and diving gear demonstrations
Naval History and Heritage Command – Naval heroes from Maine and historical interviews
USS Constitution - Virtual tours aboard the oldest commissioned ship in the Navy
