On this year's trip, travelers will have the option to participate in an African Ancestry Genealogy test, which will be revealed at the historical Cape Coast Slave Castle, which is where millions of Africans were enslaved and shipped to the Americas and Caribbean. Travelers will also be able to participate in a traditional African Naming Ceremony.

Additional events and activities include attending Afrochella, one of Africa's premiere music festivals; a festive Black Star New Year's Eve Party; an Aqua Safari Day Trip; visiting the Kakum National Park; W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Centre for Pan African Culture; Camp Tsatse, one of Ghana's most luxurious resorts in Ada; Assin Manso Ancestral River Site; taking a traditional African dance class at The University of Legon; and a nighttime beach bonfire and cultural performance. The finale event of the trip will feature a Black Star festive dinner and New Year's Eve Party.

During travelers free-time, Black Star's concierge services will help you customize your own itinerary and refer you to the best beaches, Labadi and Bojo; markets and shopping for African art and cultural products crafted by indigenous artisans; popular restaurants specializing in traditional Ghanaian cuisine, Luckies Place Restaurant & Bar, Buka, and Bondai restaurants; and late-night partying at the city's most popular night clubs, Bloom Bar, Twist, Carbon, and Plot 7.

About Black Star Travel Group
Our mission is to curate concierge-style global travel experiences that introduce countries of indigenous cultures as important destinations for African Americans to experience. We hope discovering the natural beauty, culture, roots, and joy of experiencing people of African descent throughout the world will positively influence and impact how these cultures are viewed in minority communities for generations to come. Black Star Travel Group was launched with an inaugural New Year's trip to Accra, Ghana 2019-20. It was a curated travel experience that provided our travelers with an unforgettable opportunity to enjoy the natural scenic beauty, joy, fun and happiness that is indigenous to Ghanaian culture and its people. The trip also marked a special commemorative milestone in Ghana's legacy, as the country celebrated "The Year of Return," which honored the descendants of Africans who were first captured, enslaved, and shipped from the coast of Ghana to the Americas 400 years ago.
