US503 Machine Safety/Control Reliability Applications and System Selection
This training is an intermediate to advanced level course that provides students with an in-depth look at machine safety and control reliability solutions. It will teach students components and operations of motor circuits, interpretation of schematics and wiring diagrams, maintenance and testing, circuit design and troubleshooting of a variety of motor circuit configurations.

Course Duration
3 days
Course Objectives
Upon completion students will be able to:
Identify requirements of machine safety standards
Perform risk assessment analysis
Identify components and operation of motor control circuits
Interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
Design safety circuits
Identify applicable safety procedures
Perform maintenance and testing procedures for safety circuits
Troubleshoot in lab on control simulators
Registration Fee
This course is available to all ABB employees, channel partners and manufacturer’s reps at no charge. Advantage partners may opt to use co-op dollars for lodging and travel.
Prerequisites
Students should have a working knowledge of power electronics, PC's and control circuits. Students should also have a working knowledge of using test equipment such as digital meters, analog meters, oscilloscopes and computers. Students must also complete the following on-line course prior to training.
