South Dakota Festival of Books

Each year thousands of people converge on the annual South Dakota Festival of Books, a weekend-long event that features more than 50 well-known authors participating in book signings, presentations, panel discussions and readings. Author presentations are separated into six tracks: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children’s/ya, history/tribal, and writer’s support. 
Over the course of 11 festivals, many distinguished authors and cultural figures have attended, such as Sherman Alexie, Marilynne Robinson, Ted Kooser, Dave Eggers, Sonia Monzano, Annie Proulx, Quincy Troupe, Susan Power, Louise Erdrich, Pete Dexter, and Ivan Doig; NPR hosts Carl Kassel and Neal Conan; and publishing industry representatives including Judy Hottensen, John Glusman, and Paul Cirone.
We are not requiring general registration, but we are requiring you to reserve seats for keynote events or to pay for events featuring workshops or meals.Please PRINT and bring your ticket(s) to the event entrance.
