To welcome returning students to the University of Maine this fall, Maine Savings Federal Credit Union will host a free and open-to-the-public ice cream social, courtesy of Wild Cow Creamery, at its College Avenue branch on Thursday, September 1 from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

Former Maine Black Bear, NHL star, and U.S. National Team star Eric Weinrich will hold a meet-and-greet and autograph signing between 2:30pm and 4:30pm. Weinrich is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played 17 seasons in the NHL with several teams, including the Boston Bruins.

Attendees will also have the chance to get their financial questions answered by Maine Savings staff and the Young & Free Maine Spokester, who represents the Maine Credit Union League’s campaign to help young Mainers make sense of banking and money.

In addition, a drawing will take place to win 2 VIP tickets to see Blink-182 at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor on September 3. (from )
