Chrysalis Support Services as the leading Family and Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Community Service in the Midwest, will march through the streets of Geraldton to raise community awareness of the harmful effects of Family and Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
We want our message to be heard, that it’s not okay to remain silent and look the other way, when you become aware of family and domestic violence and sexual assault, telling yourself that it is none of your business.  We are saying it is everyone’s business.  That everyone has the right to feel safe all of the time.  That as a community, we care, you are not alone and there is help out there if you need it.
The March Against Violence objectives:

To raise community awareness of the destructive and damaging effect of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
Empower the community with knowledge and resources through information installs from service providers.
Acknowledgement and honour people who have died in the past 12 months from Family and Domestic Violence related incidents – ‘that one death is too many’.
To empower our community that we will “Not be Silent and Stand up against Violence”.
Encourage community engagement with zero tolerance towards violence in our community.
Showcasing the resources available to the Community by promoting services and programs to assist any person needing support.

The march will start at the front of the Court House and proceed along Marine Terrace finishing back at the Foreshore end of Edith Cowan Square. There will be a free morning tea, entertainment and information stalls.
