Intro to Bar Modeling, Grades 1, 2 & 3
from Stella PettersonThis workshop focuses on the Singapore Math® model drawing method for solving word problems in grades 2, 3& 4. Topics covered include the rationale for using bar models to solve problems, part-whole and comparison models for problems involving the four operations with whole numbers, and using the bar model to solve two-step word problems. Teachers will learn practical suggestions on how to help their students to learn and use the bar model effectively.
