from Gracie Theatre @Husson University

Husson University Theatre (or HUT), the student-run theatre organization on the Husson campus, will be producing the Maine premier of The Easter Parade December, 7,8 at 7:30 pm. and December 9 at 2:00 pm at the Gracie Theatre. Tickets are $7.00 general public and $3.00 for students. The play, set in an accounting office, is written by local playwright, author and CPA Laura Emack from Prospect, Maine. The producer, cast, director, designers and crew consists of students from Husson University, and the New England School of Communications.

Laura Emack’s play, "The Easter Parade" takes place soon after the Enron/Andersen scandal. The financial world has taken a serious blow to its credibility, and now every honest firm needs to show that they have nothing to hide. Accounting firm McCann and Silway, CPAs is one of many companies struggling in the wake of the scandal. In order to ensure a profit, firms like McCann and Silway are forced to fire some of the extra help hired for tax season. One of the temporary hires, Lucy, played by Kaity Patnode takes drastic steps to do anything that could save her job. Mark, played by Gabriel Clarke, isn’t keen on leaving either, but a decision he makes ensures both some hilarious dialogue, and serious change within the firm.
