Welcome to the 4th Annual Hope in Motion 5K!  This year we are proud to announce the returning theme of:
Run in Color!
 Ever heard of the rapidly growing "Color Run?" Run in Color will be fashioned after the nationwide popular 5K.  How does it work?  Here's a few FAQ's:
*What is Run in Color?  Instead of chip/computer timing, this run is unique in encouraging having fun while being active.  At each kilometer, you will be dusted with a different color by volunteers with a burst of color at the finish line! 
*Is the color dust safe?  Yes!  Made from specially-made corn starch mixutures, this will be a natural fun dusting.  However, if you are concerned for where the dust will land, feel free to use a clean cloth to cover your mouth/nose when running/walking past the color stations.
*Do I have to run?  No.  You can run, walk, skip, hop, or whatever works for you.  There will also be a 1 mile family walk included if you would rather participate in that.  During that walk, you will still get dusting, though not all the colors of the 5K, but you can also participate in the finish line burst!
*What else will be happening at the event?  We will have a 1 mile Family Walk (free to kids 5 and under).  This will include some, but not all, of the colors.  Free shirts will be given to all early bird registrants, ages 6 and up.  Returning with the Family Walk will be Briley's Fun Run!  This is a FREE run for kids ages 10 and under (ages will be divided and registration is still required). 
*Is there a dress code? Yes....well, no...okay, sort of.  In order to have a full experience of the Run in Color, we ask that you either wear the event day t-shirt OR a white tshirt of your own.  You may wear any color shorts/pants, but remember that while the dust is natural and safe, there is possibility of staining, so don't wear anything you cherish.  
*Why should I participate?  We ask, why not?  This will be an event that not only allows you to participate as groups or individuals, but releases you of the pressure of being timed or being rushed through the experience!  You will have the amazing opportunity to be a part of the community coming together to support something that many are too ashamed to talk about...to show your support...to gain encouragement as you see that YOU are making a positive impact on lives you may have never come across!
 
5K/Family Walk/Fun Run information:
*Tickets purchased after January 1st, 2014 will not be refundable.
*Early Bird registration runs from October 1st, 2013 to April 1st, 2014.  Early bird registrants will receive a complimentary event shirt, goodie bag, and an individual bag of color to use at end of race.
*Late registration runs from April 2nd, 2014 to april 18th, 2014.  Registrants will NOT receive a complimentary shirt but WILL receive an individual bag of color to use at end of race.
*Day of registration runs from 8:00-8:45a.m. on April 19th, 2014.  Those who register on the day of the event will not receive a complimentary shirt.  Individual bags of color will be available at first come, first serve basis.
*Awards will be given out to various categories such as top male/femal runner, age, furthest traveled, etc.
*The 1 mile Family Walk will begin after the start of the 5K.  Participants will still experience color dust, but will not receive all of the colors as the 5K.
*Briley's Fun Run will be separate than the 5K course.  There will not be any color dust during their sprint in order to avoid upset or causing concern. 
*Early packet pickup will be on Tuesday, April 15th and Wednesday, April 16th from 4-8p.m. at Metro Christian Center: 818 N. Boeke Rd. Evansville, Indiana 47711.  You may also pick up your packets at the event beginning at 8:00a.m.
*All participants must sign a release of liability form prior to beginning run/walk.  Those who register online will receive a release form via email to sign and bring when picking up his/her race packet.
*Due to cost, complimentary shirts will only be available for 5K registrants and Family Walk participants ages 6+.  T-shirts available day-of will be available for all ages! (from )
