from Centenary CollegeDoctor of Law Matthew Mahaffey, Missouri State Public Defender, will serve as Centenary College’s 2015 Gates-Ferry Distinguished Visiting Lecturer. Community members are welcome. He will discuss “Law and Order in a Time of Racial Tension: How Exceptions Become Perceptions” at 7 pm April 27, 2015 in the George H. Whitney Chapel, located in the Edward W. Seay Administration Building. This presentation will cover the role of race, poverty, and mental health in the criminal justice system at a time of national racial tension.
