Fundraiser for a Home for Homeless Veterans featuring The Leaky Boot Jug Band

from Annadeene Fowler

The Friends of Veterans are sponsoring a Fund Raiser on Saturday, April 25 from 6-10 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Belfast, ME to Benefit the Garry Owen House (a shelter for transitional homeless veterans).

The site will be a 24 bed facility built on a 7 acre corner lot (Routes 3 & 220) in Liberty and Montville. The ground breaking is scheduled for early summer. The estimated cost for the building is $750,000 (before furniture, fully equipped kitchen, landscaping, bedding, dishes, office
supplies, etc. About $400,000 has been pledged so far, which is great, however a lot of help is needed to meet their goal.

Please join us for an enjoyable evening. Help our veterans by providing a beautiful, safe environment to live. One in which they will be proud to help maintain and call their home.
