Franklin & Marshall College: Three Sisters

from Bonnie Bosso

Written by Anton Chekhov
Translated by Brian Friel
Directed by Rachel Anderson-Rabern

Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters are paralyzed: in love, exhausted, exuberant, kind, selfish, hopeful, and devastated. They contend with both the tragedy and the foolishness of everyday life as they seek solace in their dreams of movement, of progress, of the utopia they call Moscow. their world is a tangle of soldiers, lovers, suitors, difficult in-laws, passive brothers, aging housekeepers, disappointed musicians, and uninspiring day jobs all marching to the tune of time passing and leaving them behind.
