Dube Tries to Continue Hot Hand at Yonkers Raceway

from Diego Isio

‎On the heels of reaching the 8,000 win milestone last Thursday, Dan Dube has stayed red hot at Yonkers Raceway. The track's leading driver in 2015 won five more races Tuesday afternoon (March 3rd). The 45-year-old Canadian already seems well on his way to 8,000 triumphs. Dube won four times a week ago on the matinee card, so he has an affinity for daylight racing.

‎‎Dube rolled the first four during the 12-race card, beginning with Show Me Up ($16) in the $9,000, pacing opener (1:55.3). After that, it was Mack’s Gold Band ($9.40, $58 double) in the $9,000, second-race trot (1:57.3), then odds-on Rock Fame ($3.20) in the $9,000, third-race pace (1:56.2). Dube’s fourth consecutive victory was behind Jackie Goldstein ($7.10, $220.50 Pick 3) in the $13,000, fourth-race trot.‎

‎His fifth win of the day saw him duck inside with Lucky Times ($19) in the $11,000, eighth-race pace (life-best 1:54.1).‎

‎Dube’s quintet gives him 75 wins at Empire City Casino's historic half-mile oval this season.

The Raceway’s live season continues Thursday through Saturday (all at 7:10 PM), then a “French” Sunday matinee (1 PM). Evening simulcasting accompanies all night programs, with afternoon simulcasting available daily (all provided Mother Nature cooperates).
