All for-hire drivers in Shreveport are required to complete a hospitality training course conducted by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau beginning July of 2013. The training must be completed annually before they can receive their for-hire driving permit.Training sessions will be conducted at the bureau offices at 629 Spring St. in downtown Shreveport. There is no charge for the training, but each class is limited to the first 20 registrants. The deadline for registration is 24 hours before each training session begins. Drivers MUST register online at and only those who are pre-registered will be allowed to attend the session.Registrants must arrive at least ten minutes before the start of training. Any driver who is not in the training room by the official start time of the session will have to reschedule for a future date. Parking is the responsibility of the driver.The driver should be attentive and bring a pen and paper for note taking as there will be a test at the end of the training that must be passed to receive the training certificate.
