CANCELLED NORTHERN ARIZONA AUTISM CONFERENCE until Sept. 2014

from Eventbrite

'What Causes Autism, How it Affects Executive Skills,  and How Affected Individuals can be Helped.'
Register at: www.flagstaffautismconference.eventbrite.com
This conference  will focus on current  research based information behind the belief that autism brain predisposition begins prenatally.  Autism affects core brain areas and these effects are life long, though for many, intervention and accommodations can contribuite to successful employment and quality of life.

The Conference Presenter will be Patricia, Gee, M. Ed, Autism Therapist, retired Speech and Language,
now semi-retired in Flagstaff, creator and Director of  the Open Door Autism Clinic LLC, with main office in Olympia, Washington.  She is currently setting up a satellite program in Flagstaff. (www.opendoorautism.com)

Patricia is past president and past executive director of the Autism Society of Washington.  As an SLP/Autism Specialist  in the public schools for over 30 years, her primary focus was social communications skills within a mini group setting.    Her treatment approach is based upon Michelle Garcia-Winner.  (www.socialthinking.com)

Patricia has family members living successfully with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.  A brother 60, who has severe Autism, a  41 year old son with Asperger, and a 13 year old grandaughter with Asperger.   Patricia  is fairly certain her father was also on the Spectrum.
Her search for the 'why' behind  the behaviors she observed within her family began at the University of Washington in 1968, when she could only find one book related to autism in the University's medical library.  (from )
